Shaw Men's Tennis Falls to Kutztown 1-5
Kutztown, PA - (May 8, 2009) Following a tremendous and exciting season of tennis, the Shaw University Men's Tennis team completed play for after losing to Kutztown University 1-5 on the second day of Tournament Play at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional preliminaries on Friday at the Kutztown Courts. The reigning 5 Time CIAA Champions made history by becoming the second historically black college or university to advance to the second day of Tournament play in Division II; Hampton University did it 18 years ago.
Head Coach Sunday Enitan stated, "I am so proud of my athletes. They are outstanding athletes that have accomplished so much. Of course we wanted to go all the way but there are no regrets. They have done well and deserve everything after all of the hard work that they have put in."
The team finishes the season (20-1); an incredible feat. The Shaw Family congratulates the Team and the Coaching Staff!
