Winston-Salem State University head coach John Martin kept the resurgence of WSSU tennis going, leading the Rams to a 2-1 record this week. His squad logged a 5-4 win over Charleston (W.Va.); the second ranked team in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region.

Kayla helped the Lady Rams to extend their streak of 21 straight wins. Last week, she posted a perfect 3-0 record, including picking a singles win over NCAA Division I opponent North Carolina A&T. She also joined with fellow sophomore Kalin Jarvis to finish a perfect 3-0 in doubles play, including a win over North Carolina A&T and wins over CIAA foes Fayetteville State and Johnson C. Smith. The two conference wins kept the Lady Rams in the top spot in the CIAA.

Comments: Dominique had another great week for the Lady Rams as she posted a 2-1 singles record and a 3-0 doubles record. Her only singles loss of the week came with a close matchup against NCAA Division I opponent North Carolina A&T. However, she bounced back for a pair of CIAA wins, including singles wins against Fayetteville State and Johnson C. Smith. She joined sophomore Chelsea Chatman to pick up three doubles wins.
Coach of the Week

Martin lead his team to three straight wins, including a win over NCAA Division I rival North Carolina A&T. Under his guidance, the Lady Rams have won 21 straight matches. The Lady Rams posted a pair of CIAA wins to remain in the top spot in the conference.
