Shippensburg 10, Bowie State 2 (5 innings)
KUTZTOWN, PA -- Chelsea Carson hit a base-clearing double in the midst of an eight-run first inning en route to a 10-2, five-inning Shippensburg win over Bowie State in the fifth game of the Mid-Atlantic Regionals Friday morning.
Bowie got on the board first with a run in the top of the first, however Shippensburg responded by sending 13 batter to the plate in the bottom of the inning.
Carson finished 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored. Amanda Bardo was 2-for-2 and Liz Good had two RBI.
For Bowie, Tiffany Toney was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a triple and scored two runs. Tricia Corbin was 2-for-3.
Jill Kirby (3-5) pitched the complete game for the Lady Raider. Heather Enders started the game for the Lady Bulldogs, but was knocked out after pitching just 2/3 of an inning. Jillian Willey pitched the remainder of the game in relief.
Shippensburg will play the loser of the Bloomsburg / Edinboro game on Saturday at 11:30 AM. Bowie is eliminated from play.

KUTZTOWN, PA - Rachel Weidensaul pitched a four-hit shut-out and
Kutztown rapped out 19 hits to defeat NC Central, 21-0 in
five-innings, in game six of the NCAA Division II Mid-Atlantic
Softball Regional at North Campus Field Friday afternoon .
Steph Denliner hit her 24th home run of the season, a two-run shot in the fourth. She finished 2-for-4 with four RBI and three runs scored. Adriane Willmer was 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Caitlin Hague hit a base-clearing double in the third to finish 2-for-3. She also scored two runs. Kathy Gregg was 2-for-3 with three RBI. Krista Cameron was 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Maria Schiavo went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Sophia Blue was 2-for-3 for the Lady Eagles.
The Golden Bears scored six runs in the second inning highlighted with a two-run single by Gregg. Kutztown added eight runs in the third and five in the fourth.
Weidensaul (15-7) struck out five in the complete game win. NCCU's Michelle Ishida (2-4) went 3.1 innings, allowing all 21 runs, 14 earned.
KU (43-17) will face the loser of the East Stroudsburg / Lock Haven game on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM. NC Central (31-13) is eliminated.
