ECSU's Trahan named to Daktronics All-American Team
Sophomore Center Makes History As The First All-American In ECSU

MIAMI SHORES, FL- Elizabeth City State University sophomore, center
Celeste Trahan has been named to the Daktronics, Inc. Division II
All-America Women’s Basketball Third Team.
The team, which is comprised of 20 individuals (five apiece on a
First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention), is voted on by the
Sports Information Directors at NCAA Division II member schools.
Trahan now becomes the first Lady Viking in Elizabeth City State
University history to be named an All-American.
This past season, a five-time conference Player of the Week, Trahan
dominated the CIAA statistically ranking 2nd in scoring (19.5ppg),
1st in rebounding (14.6rpg), 2nd in blocks (2.0bpg) 4th in field
goal percentage (.532), 11th in steals (2.2spg) and 15th in minutes
played (30.71mpg). Her rebounding average topped NCAA Division II
for the second consecutive year while nationally she finished at
18th in scoring, 30th in blocks and 37th in field goal percentage.
In just two seasons (54 games) she has collected 40 double-doubles
while amassing 958 points and 763 rebounds.
At the conclusion of her freshman year she landed in the NCAA
record book at number four all time in rebounding performances by a
freshman for a season (398) and average (13.7). She owns the CIAA
tournament record for rebounds in a game with 28, a feat
accomplished in the 2005 Finals vs. Shaw University (3/5/05). Some
of her individual accolades include All-CIAA honors (2005, 2006)
CIAA All-Tournament Team (2005, 2006), 2005 CIAA Rookie of the Year
and Daktronics, Inc. South Atlantic All-Region Team (2005 Second
Team, 2006 First Team).
