Virginia State to host Take A Kid To The Game Night

On December 10, 2005 at 5:30 PM in Daniel Gymnasium the Lady Trojans will take on Cheyney University and the Trojans will jump on the hardwood with the University of Montevallo at 7:30 PM. This double-header action is titled "Take A Kid To The Game" night in Daniel Gymnasium.

Each young child who is accompanied by a paying adult is admitted free of charge on December 10, 2005. "Take A Kid To The Game" is a great opportunity to let youngsters enjoy the college basketball atmosphere.

With the Trojan Explosion band, Woo Woo Cheerleaders and our fans stumping their heels, Daniel Gymnasium will be rock'n.

For the past eleven years, TAKG has provided NCAA member institutions a national grassroots program designed to encourage adults to take children to collegiate athletic contest. Institutions participate by selecting an official TAKG game and offering free or discounted tickets to children fourteen and under when accompanied by a paying adult. The TAKG program allows institutions an opportunity to introduce area youth to its athletic events as well as the college or university while boosting attendance.

TAKG has promoted women and men's basketball with the NCAA's support.

Over 700 TAKG games will be hosted across the nation, which will provide thousands of youngster the chance to experience college basketball.
