Elizabeth City State's Trahan chasing Division II history
January 24, 2008
Elizabeth City State All-American center Celeste Trahan is on pace
to become the first women's player in Division II history to score
2,000 points and collect 1,500 rebounds in a career. As of January
23, the 6-2 senior education major has scored 1,953 points and
grabbed 1,428 boards in her four years as a Lady Viking.
Trahan has a good shot to eclipse both milestones in Elizabeth City State's 11 remaining regular-season games, plus the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association postseason tournament. She currently leads Division II with more than 16 rebounds per game and is among the scoring leaders with 23.2 points per contest.
On Tuesday, Trahan recorded her 77th career double-double in 101 career games with 27 points and 18 rebounds in Elizabeth City State's 63-45 win at Lincoln (Pennsylvania).
The Lady Vikings, now 8-8 on the year, play tonight at St. Paul's College.
