Shaw Women's Tennis To Take On West Virginia State in First Round of NCAA Tournament
RALEIGH, N.C. - The Shaw women's tennis team will travel to California, Pa. to take on West Virginia State in the first round of the NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Tournament Saturday.
Shaw, the fourth seed in the Atlantic Region, will take on the fifth seeded Yellow Jackets Saturday at either 10:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. The Lady Bears (25-1) won their third CIAA Championship in four years on Saturday and suffered their only loss to Division I Charleston Southern. WVSU is 15-7 on the season.
The winner of the Shaw-West Virginia State matchup will take on the winner of the match between number one seed, and host, California (PA) and number eight seed Winston-Salem State Sunday morning at 10:00. The winner of that matchup will advance to the national tournament to be held in Louisville, Ky.
