Preseason All-CIAA Team Selected

Hampton, VA… The Central Intercollegiate Athletic
Association Volleyball Coaches Association has selected its 2009
All-CIAA Volleyball Pre-Season Team.
2008 and 2007 CIAA Player of the Year, Chekimbrell Jefferson of
Fayetteville State University, leads this year's preseason team.
Jefferson is returning for her senior year atop the conference in
two conference statistical categories, .347 hitting pct., 469
kills, 3.64 avg/s.
Other top returning players include rising junior, Xie'Ara
Maybank-Smallings of Elizabeth City State University with 133 total
blocks, 156 kills and a hitting average of .320; second in the
conference.
Season play begins on August 28, with non-conference opponents
spanning from Pennsylvania to North Carolina.
