CIAA Preseason Volleyball Selections Announced
2010 Campaign Set for Aug 31
Hampton, VA… The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association
Volleyball Coaches Association has selected its 2010 All-CIAA
Volleyball Pre-Season Team.
Rising senior, Xie'Ara Maybank-Smalling of Elizabeth City State
University leads the team and conference with 138 total blocks, 227
kills and a hitting percentage of .435.
Last season’s Rookie of the Year, Karina Monroe of the Chowan
University returns to defend the Hawks’ first CIAA
Championship title. Monroe ranks among the top in the conference in
hitting percentage .335, total blocks 87 and leads the conference
in kills with 403.
