CIAA Honors Pink Perseverance As Honorary Coach For Saturday's Volleyball Event

CIAA HONORS PINK PERSEVERANCE AS HONORARY COACH FOR SATURDAY’S VOLLEYBALL EVENT

Hampton, VA…The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association honored Founder of Pink Perseverance Linda Whitlock as an Honorary Coach for Saturday’s the Volleyball Championship semi-finals at yesterday’s CIAA Volleyball Tournament Luncheon. Her organization is partnering with the CIAA; adding to the “Dig Pink” movement created to bring breast cancer awareness through sports. 

 Pink Perseverance, Inc. is a non-profit breast cancer awareness organization dedicated to talking to women and their families about the importance of taking control of their breast health. Pink Perseverance was founded on October 1, 2010 by Linda Whitlock (President) and Delvin Whitlock (Vice President) to encourage women to get their annual mammograms and to do their monthly examinations. On Saturday, November 5, in honor of the fight against breast cancer, the CIAA Volleyball Championship will be sponsored by the Dig-Pink Initiative. Special activities to “Block Out” cancer will be included, local breast cancer organizations will be represented and honorary coaches honored.

A “FREE Volleyball Clinic: For Novice to experts to learn the game of volleyball” open to all ages and skill levels is taking place at 1-3pm at Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton, VA. A “FREE Workshop: Becoming Eligible for NCAA Collegiate Play and Scholarships” is open to all participants, coaches and parents and will also take place at 1-3pm at Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton, VA.

At 5:00pm & 7:00pm the CIAA Volleyball Semi-Finals will take place leading up to the Championship game on Sunday at 1:00pm.
