CIAA Volleyball Championship Weekend Begins with Selection of 2011 All-Conference and Rookie Teams

Hampton, VA… The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association in conjunction with the CIAA Volleyball Coaches Association, has selected its 2011 class of All-CIAA and All-CIAA Rookie Team honorees.
Chowan University's Victoria Lewis leads this year’s honorees as our 2011 CIAA Player of the Year. The senior outside hitter ranks among the top in the CIAA in kills 350, services aces 61, .59/set, and digs 276 with 2.68/set.
Nikira Fults, also of the Chowan Hawks, tops the rookie corps as 2011 Rookie of the Year. Fults, a freshman middle blocker from El Paso, TX ranks ninth in the CIAA in hitting percentage with 152 kills and 385 total attempts for .218/set and ninth in blocks with 69 (24 solo, 45 assisted).

The CIAA Player and Rookie of the Year and respective teams will be honored at the Volleyball Championship Banquet held at the Newport News Marriott at the City Center, Newport News, VA on Thursday, November 3, 2011; 12:30pm.
